Early life
Pinguicula vulgaris
As a kid, I was attracted to nature very early. Every time I had the opportunity, I went outside to observe birds, plants, insects, rocks and other fascinating things of life and earth sciences. I grew up in the great plains of the Champagne region (Reims, France), cradle of extensive agriculture and vineyards, but also a very interesting ecosystem to study!
At the time, I joined a local association that dealt with taking care of both endemic and exotic carnivorous plants. I got to participate in several plants exhibitions, exchanges and reintroduction programs (Drosera anglica and Pinguicula vulgaris). I grew a lot of Orchids, exotic and carnivorous plants. I even recreated a natural peat bog in my backyard. Meanwhile I took part in a lot of bird-watching expeditions and bird / insect breeding.
Education
Geology field trip / lab
I got my high school diploma with distinction (80% upwards), with a specialization in earth and life sciences. Next I integrated a two-year program of advanced training at Lycée Clémenceau (Reims, France), designed to teach us general but very comprehensive courses (80 hours of work per week!), equivalent to a B. Sc. level. Courses included biology, geology, geography, mathematics, physics, chemistry, literature and philosophy, English, German and lots of lab classes. In 2007, I took the French Agronomy and Veterinary (Concours Agro-Véto), which I passed with 100% in biology. It permitted me to integrate the Institut Polytechnique LaSalle Beauvais (IPLB, France), where earned a M.Sc. degree with distinction in Agro-ecology, soil, plant and water sciences and landscape management. Throughout my internships in Canada and my stay in the USA, I was able to connect with a lot of great people who convinced me to continue my professional career abroad.
Professional prospective
Orchis mascula (Early purple Orchid), Ardennes
I am willing to pursue my professional career either in the USA, Canada or Scandinavia (Denmark), where I did several internships and started my career. I am currently working as teacher in high school in Denmark, which is giving me a really good experience. In the future, I would like to acquire a Ph. D. in my fields of interest: ecology, conservation and restoration ecology, plant science, water and landscape management. As my educational background is strong and diverse, I am looking for an inter-disciplinary doctoral program. Otherwise, I am really keen on finding new ways to educate people, using IT and cooperative learning. I am developing new web and application ideas that would support interactive class where students would literally be actors of their own class, and have everything (courses, homework, exam, material...) in one place, right at their fingertips. I am also investigating the use of holographic images in class, after extensive use of smartboards. towards a better fun and innovative teaching!

Towards the American culture...
I have always been attracted to the American culture, whether it is the language, sports or the way of living. Since my first Canadian internship, I have been a fervent fan of American and Canadian football. I have been watching, following and rooting for my favorite teams : the New England Patriots (NFL) and the Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL). I have myself played in the French amateur league as a defensive back, wideout and running back.
Go Riders and Go Pats !
